A Natural Approach to Healing

Kathryn King is a Naturopathic Doctor primarily based in Canada. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver and then attended the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. Kathryn’s science background, combined with her experience in Vipassana Meditation and Hatha Yoga, have given rise to her comprehensive interest in the physiological and energetic aspects of health.

Dr. King uses Asian Medicine, botanicals and nutrition to optimize her patients’ health and help them achieve their goals, along with a special focus on physical medicine, such as joint manipulations and naturopathic massage.

She finds the complex puzzles of hormonal issues particularly intriguing; a large portion of her practice focuses on working with patients to find the unique root of their hormonal imbalances, as well as the causes of their sleep, skin or digestive issues.

Dr. King’s approach is broad and varied, informed by her extensive travels and the opportunities these have afforded her to interact with and learn from people of different cultures. Ethical and sustainable volunteering is a passion of Dr. King’s - one that led her to co-found a global health organization, the Bohique Bridge Project, which brings Naturopathic Doctors and students to underserved communities abroad.

Combining her love of travel, teaching, and balanced welness Dr. King offers revitalizing, adventurous tours for women looking for a vacation that improves their mental and physical health.

All of these experiences inform Dr. King’s clinical practice, which aims to bring natural, whole-person healing to her patients.

My Services

"Do not ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."

About Me

I love empowering patients to understand their bodies and discover gentle ways to heal themselves. And I love helping busy women find new ways to thrive so they can keep rocking their vibrant, meaningful, and sometimes hectic lives.

I am no stranger to being busy, but staying active keeps me healthy and happy - especially during the months when I’m working in the clinic. Hiking, yoga, paddling, walking the dogs, and parking very far from store entrances (really!) all help to keep me moving. The right supplements, a balanced diet*, and some movement are the basic building blocks that I need to be at the top of my game, all the time.

*Balance for me means mostly meat and veggies with a pizza a couple time a month and the occasional root beer float... what does it mean for you?

My love of health, movement, yoga and meditation along with my passion for travel have culminated in a new and exciting addition to my naturopathic practice:  Adventures in Balance. I founded my tour company because I love taking busy women on rejuvenating adventures, and teaching them how to master balance in their own lives while actively exploring our amazing planet.

When I'm not in clinic or traipsing around the world, you can find me in rural Alberta, slowly becoming a homesteader and trying to become responsible for as much of my food production as possible. Follow my journeys on Facebook and Instagram - or better yet, come with me!!

Join me on my next adventure!
